(The name sounds like โguaran-teeโ)
Iโm a product manager on the data analytics team, which basically means I own everything the analytics team produces. At my current employer, LotusFlare, my work involves making sure our team gets what we need to build great analytical work that serves all stakeholders. Our work guides internal strategic decisions and keeps our clients happy.
Being the product manager for the data team requires some technical know-how. Iโve worked as a research data analyst at a GovTech firm and as an assistant research analyst at a VC. In these fast-paced environments, I had to get my hands dirty with the messy data that teams deal with in the real world.
In 2023, I graduated from Rotmanโs Master of Management Analytics program at the University of Toronto. Before that, I spent three years working in New York and Chicago after completing my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018. Prior to moving to the U.S. and Canada, I grew up in Beijing and Hong Kong until the age of 18.
I like reading and learning about the environment and climate; I like maps; I enjoy reading non-fiction, especially if itโs about socio-political science; Iโm a tennis fanatic; and I try to find ways to marry my interests with data.
I learned fluent Japanese, culminating in an exchange semester at the University of Tokyo. The banner picture is the sunrise I captured from the peak of Mt. Fuji, the result of a 24-hour hike during which I braved strong winds and sandstorms in the middle of the night.
My goal is to continuously expand the intersection of my interests and data.
